Muscle Shoals to Music Row Live is back this Thursday (Oct. 15) at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center. Our October show is featuring legendary songwriters Billy Lawson and Ed Hill. Also performing, the new up-and-coming Cains Trio.

Billy Lawson, a Muscle Shoals native began his career shortly after high school signing a deal with Epic Records. Soon after signing his key man at Epic relocated to the West Coast causing Billy to get lost in the shuffle. Billy’s set-back at Epic however, didn’t hold him back. He soon caught the attention of Sony and Publisher, Don Cook where he quickly began to cut hits with major artists Rick Trevino and Trace Adkins. The hits didn’t stop there, he is also responsible for songs recorded by: Tim McGraw, LeeAnn Womack, Lonestar, Sammy Kershaw, Mel McDaniel, and Shenandoah.

Originally from California, Ed Hill’s career in the music industry started in the early seventies. He has played backup piano and keyboard for both Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson. In 1980, Ed won his first Grammy- Best Country Instrumental Performance Ed for “Orange Blossom Special/Hoedown”. Ed is has written/co-written many hits throughout his career such as: “Find Out Who Your Friends Are” Tracy Lawrence, “How Bout Them Cowgirls” George Strait, “Songs About Me” Trace Adkins, “How Far” Martina McBride, “Be My Baby Tonight” John Michael Montgomery, and “C-O-U-N-T-R-Y” Joe Diffie just to name a few.

Headlining Thursday nights stage is The Cains Trio, a country music sibling band from Hartselle, Alabama. The Cains Trio are currently doing a radio tour for their current single “Be Yourself With Me” that is actually doing quite well on the charts. These three are extremely passionate about their music and such humble individuals, and both of those traits shine through in their performances, so you definitely don’t want to miss out on this Thursdays show!

I first met the Cains’ during a stop on their radio tour September 3rd. Within the first fifteen minutes I could tell there was something different about this trio that you do not normally see with your average band. Being that they are siblings, these three are obviously very close and work extremely well together- and when I say I extremely well, I mean harmonizing like you wouldn’t believe. I snagged a copy of their CD and you should too! (my personal recommendation- ‘Fighting for Love’).

The trio played three of their songs acoustically for the KIX96 Artist Video Blog and I was very impressed by how good they sounded! For people not really into the music Tthing" it’s not often that you get to hear artists who sound just as good acoustically as they do on a produced album.

To give you a better sense of the trio, let me tell you a little more about them.

Taylor, the oldest of the three plays the guitar, piano, sings lead vocals, and co-writes. Learning her first song on piano at the young of age of 5, teaching Madison and Logan harmony parts a few years later, in addition to her immaculate talent, theres no doubt that Taylor was destined for the music industry.
Not your typical middle child, former Miss Hartselle High School, Madison plays the bass guitar and sings harmony vocals for the trio- and let me point out, she has such graceful voice. In addition to the bass guitar, Madison also plays the piano and co-writes.

This once shy boy isn’t so shy anymore, Logan the youngest of the three loves all things music. His balancing harmony is perfect for the trio. An all around artist, Logan plays the guitar, drums, sings lead, and harmony vocals.

These three are extremely passionate about their music and such humble individuals, and both of those traits shine through in their performances.

The Cains are currently charted with their first single ‘Be Yourself With Me’.

Since their visit to the studio, The Cains Trio has played several locations within the Shoals area. If you’ve missed out, DONT WORRY!

The Cains Trio will be playing Muscle Shoals to Music Row Live at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center on October 16th! Go ahead and reserve your seats, you don’t want to miss this!

Had a chance to Emcee the bud Light stage at the 2014 CMA Music Fest!  A lot of amazing perormances by some very talented artists that day, including Jamie Lynn Spears, Austin Webb, Joshua Scott Jones (Steal Magnolia), and THIS guy, Bucky Covington!  Maybe we can get him to come back to Muscle Shoals for a show, huh? What do you think?!

Bucky opened up the performances that day, and did not disappoint!  A great perfomer, and a really nice guy!    Keep up with Bucky Covington here:
